Can someone ID what I’m positive is a Lincoln or Cadillac that I’ve circled? Never seen one before yesterday. All I know is that it had two doors, sorta shaped like a fastback, quad-eyed, and had two sets of vertical slats for a grille similar to BMW’s kidney grille.

looks like an LTD

Raised rubber strip on bumper, bumper goes all the way across (excludes early ‘80s DeVille models), very square trunk edge, narrow taillights.
My money is on ~’85 Coupe DeVille:
Could be wrong, though.

Possibly

Olds?

Nope. It was a two-door.

It was a two-door coupe. Very fastback like.
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:16 |

Nope. More of a fastback.

Or possibly a Cutlass from the “colonnade” era:
1977:
1975:
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:20 |

Nope. Smoother around the edges and not a convertible.

I’m going with an LTD. Believe me that there was nothing LTD about it.

Can’t post photos. Buick Riviera boat-tail, or just a fast roofline?

seventies Coupe DeVille?
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:27 |

Those are brougham tops - neither is convertible.
Ford LTD II?

Smoother transitions from the roof to decklid. And no landau top.

Fastback roofline like a ‘64-66 Mustang

“two-door” is really throwing a wrench in the works. I’d think that maybe I was wrong about seeing taillights and that it was a seville:
...except that seville two-doors are not a thing.

Or possibly a 76-77 Cutlass:

Dis?
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:33 |

THAT!! What is That??
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:33 |

It doesn’t look like it has the raised trunk like a Seville coupe.
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:35 |

Front end was more square but those headlights are the exact same.
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:35 |

Could it have been a Cutlass Slantback?
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:36 |

JimZ nailed down the rear end, but idk what it is, a Cutlass of some sort?
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:38 |

‘76-’77 Olds Cutlass model of some kind. (His pic is a 442).
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:40 |

‘77 Cutlass 442.

It’s sounding like the rear was a sport model of Cutlass, probably ‘76:
But your description of the front sounds like a Cutlass Supreme:
More than a Cutlass S or 442:
Could be a hybrid, I suppose.

Buick Century Custom Coupe.....?
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:48 |
|
The one above is a 76. This is a 77:
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:53 |
|
Exactly. It had the rear of a sport, and the front of a supreme
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:53 |
|
If the front is boxy and square then that’s the car.
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:53 |

Yup....with vertical slats.
![]() 05/17/2018 at 12:55 |

Did they make a non-landau top version of that car with a fastback?

As you can see with what I posted, apparently the “S” in ‘77 went to having a normal nose, so it’s probably a ‘77 “S”.
![]() 05/17/2018 at 13:12 |
|
Yep! That’s the exact car, except the one I saw was cammed, and looked and sounded nice.

If I had one, I’d probably swap to ‘75 bumpers and ‘77 Cutlass Supreme taillights.
Then it would be just about perfect.
